World Train Travel Adds The Autumn Highlander Rail Tour To Scotland From Two English Cities, Salisbury And Oxford, In A Private First Class Train
Chippenham, Wiltshire (PRWEB) September 01, 2013 -- World Train Travel, the travel agent-friendly rail information and booking site which is part of The Train Chartering Company, has added the Autumn Highlander Tour, which runs from Salisbury and Oxford in England to Scotland. The tour dates are Friday September 27 to Monday September 30, 2013.
World Train Travel is a simple train information and rail booking system connecting travel agents, travel organizers and individuals with train information, services, fares and booking for rail journeys worldwide. Launched in May 2013, World Train Travel is in continuous live beta. Content includes luxury and touring trains, rail passes and train tickets. The site will continue to grow in the coming months, with many rail products providing commission for travel agencies.
The Autumn Highlander private train has comfortable First Class carriages providing an inter-city quality ride. Every chair is at a full-size table – there are no airline-style seats and no cramped tray tables. Good food and accommodation, coupled with the spectacular Scottish scenery, is a relaxing combination for a great break and a weekend of memories.
The train has a full-size kitchen, where chefs create freshly-prepared dining. Uniformed stewards serve passengers at their tables, which are laid with linen, chinaware, glasses and quality cutlery, dressed with flowers and lit by lamps.
The route on Friday takes the train from Salisbury, nestling in the mellow counties of southern England, via other towns and cities such as Oxford to the last embarking station of Hexham in the far north of England.
Other boarding stations are: Westbury, Chippenham, Swindon, Oxford, Banbury, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Nuneaton, Stafford and Crewe.
From Hexham, the train travels on to Carlisle and Scotland; arriving at Paisley, road coaches transfer passengers to the 4-star Beardmore Hotel, on the bank of the River Clyde.
On Saturday, the special train travels over the West Highland Line to Fort William, considered by many to be one of the finest rail trips in the world. Lochs, glens and mountains provide spectacular scenery through the carriage window.
There are various touring options from Fort William, where Ben Nevis Mountain is a dramatic backdrop. After the tours, the train returns passengers to the hotel.
On Sunday, after a leisurely full Breakfast at the hotel, passengers once again have a choice of tours to take in the breath-taking Scottish scenery. Options range from the Trossachs National Park, steam ship ‘Sir Walter Scott’ and Auchentoshan whisky Distillery to Queen's View at Killiecrankie Pass and Pitlochry. The route back takes the train across the world-famous Forth Railway Bridge.
The journey back to England on Monday begins after breakfast at the hotel. The train travels along the famous and spectacular Settle & Carlisle Line as the final touch to a memorable weekend aboard the Autumn Highlander.
Simon Pielow of World Train Travel, says, "The Autumn Highlander is a great way to travel into Scotland from England’s cathedral city Salisbury or university city Oxford, for a memorable weekend tour of the Highlands."
