Suzanne Rich Folsom the Only Representative from the Private Security Industry Among the Twelve General Counsels Recognized

This is a well-deserved honor for her tireless efforts in creating a best-in-class compliance program at ACADEMI.

ACADEMI Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer Suzanne Rich Folsom has been named as one of the Ethisphere Institute’s 2013 Attorneys Who Matter.

Ethisphere, a prominent think tank whose work focuses on business ethics and compliance best practices, selected the individuals who represent “the best and brightest in the legal field.” Ms. Folsom was the only representative from the private security industry among the twelve general counsels recognized for their role in helping to “lead their companies to the top of the ethics and compliance world.”

“I would like to congratulate Suzanne for being recognized as one of Ethisphere’s 2013 Attorneys Who Matter. This is a well-deserved honor for her tireless efforts in creating a best-in-class compliance program at ACADEMI,” said ACADEMI CEO Craig Nixon.

Jack Quinn, the Chairman of QGA Public Affairs and former White House Counsel who serves as an independent director on ACADEMI’s Board of Directors and as a co-chair of the Board’s Governance Committee, added, “Having known and worked with Suzanne for many years, I cannot think of a more deserving lawyer to be named as one of the 2013 Attorneys Who Matter. Her work in both the private and public sectors has demonstrated an unmatched devotion to corporate governance, business ethics, and compliance.”

“Ethisphere’s recognition of Suzanne as among the most influential general counsels in the field of corporate ethics and compliance is not a surprise to those who have worked with her,” added former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft, who also serves as an independent director and co-chair of ACADEMI’s Governance Committee.

In May 2013, ACADEMI was honored by the National Law Journal with the prestigious Corporate Compliance Office of the Year Award, recognizing excellence in corporate compliance by in-house counsel in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

The niche security services company was created in 1997 as a premiere provider of training and protective services in high-threat environments.
