Beijing International Book Fair Showcases Digital Revolution
Beijing, China (PRWEB) September 03, 2013 -- China’s growing dominance in the world or digital publishing was one reason U.S. publishers flocked to the Beijing International Book Fair. Government involvement in the field and the population’s affinity for technology make it a fast growing market.
According to Robert Fletcher, president of U.S. based Publish on Demand Global, “Digital publishing in China is taking off dramatically because the government has put into place effective copyright laws and digital rights management. We believe that China will eclipse the United States as the biggest digital publishing marketing in the world in the coming years.” Mr. Fletcher was recently quoted in China Daily’s newspaper in the USA edition.
Mr. Fletcher and PODG was exhibiting at BIBF and arranging distribution of catalogues from publishers around the world including SBPRA, his publishing company with 5000 published authors. "Our authors want to reach the China market. The number of English speakers here means that that are more English readers in China than the population of many countries and this is a very viable market for authors and publishers around the world".
Mr. Fletcher also has a Beijing partner, Mr. Song Bo, the President of Beijing United Glory Culture & Media Company, that is currently also in the process of signing deals with Chinese publishers who want to target the 50 million Chinese who live abroad and in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore and throughout Asia and the world. "Many Chinese publishers are coming to us because they want to put their entire catalogue in the Chinese language into these global distribution channels,” he concluded.
Publish On Demand Global, through its partners and affiliates, currently provides services to approximately 10,000 authors and publishers around the world. PODG helps authors and publishers penetrate other markets globally in print books, ebooks, mobile books and tablet books. PODG specializes in safely and securely bringing authors and publishers into the US and bringing US books and publishers to the world through its global network of publishers, printers, distributors, and book marketers.
Beijing United Media & Culture Company is a Beijing based company that assists Western publishers with import into China and Chinese publishers to export from China.
