Visible Lighting Responds to WEEE Consultation Responses

The reaction was that the first option of maintaining the status quo was not sustainable, with options 3 and 4 receiving the most votes. The third option was setting targets for compliance schemes, with a “compliance fee” if targets were not met, with the fourth being to match election sites to collection schemes. The government is set to release a draft regulation by the end of the month with a view to bringing the new law into force in January.
