PMSI to Provide Pharmacy Benefit Management Services to Intercare Holdings Clients
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) September 03, 2013 -- PMSI, one of the nation’s largest and most experienced companies focused on workers’ compensation, today announced that Intercare Holdings, a California-based Third Party Administrator (TPA) that provides liability, workers’ compensation and managed care claims administration services, has selected PMSI to provide Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) services for its client base. PMSI currently provides Medicare Set-Aside (MSA) services for the TPA’s clients.
“A critical component of our vendor alliances is a transparent partnership and philosophy to reduce costs while providing appropriate care for injured workers,” said Agnes Hoeberling, Intercare’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “PMSI’s responsiveness, focus on workers’ compensation, and value-added services give us the flexibility to work on our specific objectives.”
PMSI was selected to provide PBM services for Intercare’s 32,500 injured workers because of its proven solutions for network penetration, clinical expertise and cost containment. PMSI provides a robust retail pharmacy network, Tmesys®, which includes nearly 65,000 pharmacies nationwide. PMSI’s total PBM solution, PharmaComplete™, addresses key industry challenges that impact quality and spend in pharmacy programs: network penetration, unit cost, utilization, administrative costs, compliance, and service quality. Clients receive reliable data with clinically based recommendations in order to make informed decisions that drive optimal health outcomes for injured workers.
“PMSI has the clinical expertise, analytical tools, and industry knowledge to provide best-in-class solutions that are comprehensive, yet flexible to meet the pharmacy needs of Intercare’s clients,” said Eileen Auen, PMSI’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “It is a pleasure to expand our relationship with Intercare and continue our partnership to deliver best-in-case workers’ compensation programs for the injured workers we serve.”
Intercare works collaboratively with self-insured and insured entities in the public and private sectors that seek to process and handle claims in a prompt and effective manner and to control costs. “Intercare believes in its stewardship responsibility for its clients and thus, does not receive any revenue or administrative fees for these programs,” stated Hoeberling. “After all, the system is designed to take care of legitimately injured workers, providing appropriate care while preventing abuse to the system.”
