Dr. Brian Hubert Joins MTPV Power Corporation as Executive Vice President of Product and Business Development
Austin, TX (PRWEB) September 04, 2013 -- MTPV Power Corporation (http://www.mtpv.com) has named Dr. Brian Hubert as its new Executive Vice President to lead the energy company's Product and Business Development as it prepares for commercialization of its heat-to-electric power solutions.
Dr. Hubert is a 15-year executive with deep financial, product, technical and business experience in both Fortune 500 and emerging technology companies. Prior to joining MTPV Power Corporation, Dr. Hubert joined Applied Ventures, the venture investment arm of Applied Materials, in 2007, where he managed investments in advanced materials, semiconductors, power electronics and energy harvesting. Dr. Hubert also served as an observer to the board of directors for numerous startup companies including ClearEdge Power, ActaCell, Inpria, Innolume, as well as MTPV.

Prior to Applied Ventures, Dr. Hubert was a member of the High-Tech and Health Care practices at global business consulting firm McKinsey & Company. Prior to McKinsey, he co-founded Kovio, Inc., a Kleiner Perkins-backed Silicon Valley startup offering printed silicon products for the Near Field Communications and Electronic Article Surveillance markets, where he served in several capacities including Chief Technology Officer, President, and observing member on the Board of Directors.
Dr. Hubert was awarded the Lemelson-MIT Prize for excellence in invention and innovation, and his work has been featured in USA Today, New York Times, Associated Press, Wired.com, and CNN Sci-Tech. Dr. Hubert earned his bachelor of science, master of science, and Ph.D. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Mechanical Engineering with a research focus on superconductors and nano-engineering.
