Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters & Carpenter Contractor Trust Donate to New Jersey Mobile Hall of Fame
Edison, NJ (PRWEB) September 05, 2013 -- The Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters (NRCC) and the Carpenter Contractor Trust (CCTNYNJ) took the role of lead sponsor with a $50,000 donation each in the creation of the New Jersey Mobile Hall of Fame (NJHOF). The Mobile Hall of Fame, the only one of its kind in the nation, highlights New Jersians who “Make a Difference.” It was publicly unveiled June 24 at Liberty State Park in Jersey City.
"The carpenters wanted to bring the Hall of Fame to the people, in particular to students, because they view the Hall of Fame as the educational tool that speaks about the luminaries, the talent and skillset of the individuals from New Jersey,” says Kevin McCabe, New Jersey Hall of Fame board member and the president of the Carpenter Contractor Trust . “We felt the attributes of the inductees are similar to that of our union carpenters.”
The museum is an interactive multimedia exhibition housed in a mobile truck, where it encourages guests to explore the images, artifacts and videos of the inductees’ lives. This year’s inductees include Grover Cleveland, Bill Parcells, and Whitney Houston. The criteria for inductees are those who have demonstrated a passion for making a difference in society and the world overall.
The Mobile Hall of Fame will tour the Jersey Shore throughout the summer and, after Labor Day, will visit various schools and educational facilities across the state.
“I promise you it will have a terrific impact on who you are as a New Jersian,” says McCabe.
