Sovereign Luxury Travel sees rise in holidays to Canary Islands
(PRWEB UK) 3 September 2013 -- Spain is experiencing a rise in tourism as it recorded its highest number of visitors to the country. The announcement comes as July alone saw a 3.4 percent yearly increase and 2.9 percent from January to July 2013.
Sovereign Luxury Travel has also seen a similar increase in holidays to Spain compared to last year. The luxury travel specialist saw passenger volume for the winter season grow by eight percent since the beginning of January 2013. This trend is predicted to continue in the coming months with the ongoing political situation in North Africa.
Luxury holidays to the Canary Islands are proving the most popular with passenger volumes growing at the same rate as that seen across the whole of Spain. Gran Canaria holidays in particular have shown strong growth with a 22 percent rise, followed by holidays to Tenerife with a 17 percent rise. Further growth for the Spanish market is also expected for bookings in October as summer holidays come to an end.
Demand from Sovereign customers is still largely for luxury winter sun holidays. If the Canary Islands experiences a repeat of last year’s temperatures in winter, holidaymakers can expect to enjoy a warm climate. Only this year, Sovereign introduced further all-inclusive holiday options in Spain to its 2014 programme and has a selection of exclusive offers and discounts. As part of its programme, the luxury travel specialist also offers holidays to the Balearic Islands and mainland Spain.
