2nd Annual Nashville Whiskey Festival: Bigger, Bolder, Smokier and Peat-ier
Nashville, Tenn. (PRWEB) September 04, 2013 -- Midtown Wine & Spirits, in cooperation with entertainment booking agency and digital marketing partner Horton Group, is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Nashville Whiskey Festival, taking place at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, September, 11-14. The event brings together talented bartenders, distillers, experts and whiskey fans from around the globe in a celebration of one of the world’s oldest craft spirits. A portion of the proceeds from the event benefit the Nashville Clean Water Project and their initiative to improve and maintain Tennessee’s regional waterways.
The four-day event features a wide range of bourbon whiskeys from the Tennessee region and also includes whisky malts from Scotland, Japan, Ireland and France. The festival showcases well-known names like Jack Daniels and Maker's Mark, but also up-and-coming craft distillers who are helping drive a new era of whiskey refinement.
Each day will offer attendees a unique experience, beginning with the live-action Iron Cocktail mixology competition, plus tastings from Four Roses and live music from Allen Thompson Band.
Day two kicks-off the Antique Collection Tastings. This portion of the festival will feature selections from some of the whales of whiskey such as: Pappy Van Winkle, Buffalo Trace, George T. Stagg and more. The night will also include food from Porter Road Butcher and the Bloomy Rind, plus a performance by indie pop pianist, Reed Pittman.
As the event pours into the weekend Women and Whiskey take the spotlight. The evening will include tastings, panel discussions, food and engaging stories from women in the whiskey industry, including Hollis Bulleit of the Bulleit Bourbon family. Adding to the night’s fun will be musical performances from Samantha Landrum, Camaron Ochs and Ashley Ray.
Closing out the celebration is the Nashville Whiskey Festival’s crown jewel, the Grand Tasting, exhibiting more than 300 selections of whiskey from over 60 distilleries around the world. VIP access to the Grand Tasting is available and allows guests early entry to the event. Throughout the evening festival goers will be treated to live music, food and a complimentary tasting vessel.
The Nashville Whiskey Festival is the largest internationally recognized event of its kind taking place in the South and joins the ranks of similar festivals held in Chicago, New York and San Francisco. In addition to great whiskey, food and music the event will also feature several special guests, including: "Whiskey Master" Kevin Mulchahy; Jim Rutledge, Master Distiller of Four Roses; Stephanie Ridgway, Brand Ambassador of Highland Park Scotch and Jonathan Wingo, Whiskey Guru and Brand Ambassador of Balvenie Scotch.
