Streamline Support Requests With New Browser-Based Support Console from Netop
Portland, OR (PRWEB) September 04, 2013 -- Today, Netop released an update to its secure remote access solution, Netop Remote Control, which introduces a browser-based support console. The new capability enables IT managers and service desk representatives to streamline their workflows by remotely accessing and controlling Windows devices from any HTML5-compatible browser – be it Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Internet Explorer. The support console is free for anyone running the latest version of Netop Remote Control, version 11.5, on the device they wish to connect to.
With no software or plugins to install on a service desk representative’s computer, the platform-independent support console enables authorized personnel to quickly establish remote support sessions. Users simply launch their favorite browser, type-in the IP address or name of a computer on their network and enter their credentials to login. Once a secure connection has been established, familiar remote support capabilities such as screen transfer, mouse and keyboard controls are immediately available within a user’s browser window.
“The introduction of the browser-based support console marks a milestone in the evolution of Netop Remote Control, one we believe will help streamline workflows for our customers” said Kurt Bager, CEO, Netop. “With nothing to install and an intuitive user interface, it only takes a few seconds for service desk representatives to respond to support requests.”
The browser-based support console provides a toolbar where traditional modifier keys - Ctrl, Alt and Shift – as well as logout or Ctrl Alt Delete commands can be sent to a target device. Users can choose to minimize the toolbar, change to full screen mode and, of course, end the sessions when an issue has been resolved.
In keeping with Netop’s highly regarded remote access security standards, the new support console provides password-based authentication by default, Windows Security Management and Directory Services. The initial version of Netop’s browser-based support console provides access to Windows machines running on a company’s LAN.
