September is Baby Safety Month, sponsored annually by the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA). This September, JPMA is helping educate parents and caregivers on sustainable living and green alternatives through our theme, Green is the New Pink and Blue.
“JPMA is extremely excited about Baby Safety Month this year,” said Michael Dwyer, CAE, Executive Director of JPMA. “Our sustainable living theme shows that JPMA is at the forefront of the ever-changing juvenile products industry. In addition, our daily product giveaway is a new endeavor for us and highlights the innovation, strong reputation and generosity of our members.”
JPMA’s daily giveaway, Product A Day from JPMA, will occur on JPMA’s new Baby Safety Zone Facebook page. Consumers are encouraged to “Like” us on Facebook and in order to win each prize, consumers must “Like” each daily post. The giveaway will feature car seats, high chairs, carriers and more!
There are also several resources available at babysafetymonth.org, including a green living guide and daily green living tips. In addition, information on recycled, or second-hand, products is offered. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to read through the information and tips in order to adopt a safe and environmentally friendly lifestyle.
“Every year, we look forward to Baby Safety Month,” continued Dwyer. “It’s a great opportunity for the industry to come together and support JPMA in our effort to promote the safe use of juvenile products.”
About Baby Safety Month
Baby Safety Month started in 1983 when JPMA initiated “Expectant Mother’s Day”. In 1986, it was extended to a week-long celebration, until 1991, when JPMA sponsored the first “Baby Safety Awareness Month”. Since then, every September has been designated as Baby Safety Month.
