This patent validates the unique design of the PocketLovey in connection with its ability to stimulate and promote a child’s motor, sensory, and tactile development.

The PocketLovey Company, LLC, has announced the issuance by the US Patent Office of a patent that covers the unique ornamental design of the PocketLovey, a developmental product for children. The PocketLovey is a handcrafted innovation on the traditional “lovey” or transitional object, designed to help infants and children of all ages develop and feel secure.

The patent D657,178 is for an ornamental comforter with pouch for use by a baby or child for stimulation or security. The unique developmental toy consists of a fabric pouch with a plurality of plush fabric drapes attached to the interior, each a different shape and texture that children use for self-comfort and independent play. The drapes can be folded completely within and hidden inside the toy itself or unfolded to extend outside of the PocketLovey.

"This patent validates the unique design of the PocketLovey in connection with its ability to stimulate and promote a child’s motor, sensory, and tactile development," said Tamara Cryar, President of The PocketLovey Company. The patent covers the appearance and functionality of the internal and external design.

“Regardless of which side of the attachment parenting debate you might fall on, loveys help our children. We believe that children with loveys learn to better soothe themselves, sleep on their own earlier, and grow into more confident, independent young people,” Cryar said. Engineered with safety in mind, the PocketLovey has been tested and certified suitable for children of all ages.

“In today’s economy, many parents have to work to support their families. Providing a product that fosters growth and independence and aids parents as they say goodbye to their children in the mornings is something we’re very proud of,” she added. “Our choice to create every PocketLovey one at a time here in the U.S.A. supports not only children and their caregivers, but our community at large.”

The PocketLovey Company, LLC, based in Austin, Texas, designs and manufactures the PocketLovey, a high-quality, attractive security object that soothes and entertains children. Tamara Cryar founded the company in 2008. The PocketLovey Company is locally owned and run by mompreneurs in Austin, Texas.
