Face-to-Face Connections Are Key During International Women’s Friendship Month This September
Memphis, TN (PRWEB) September 05, 2013 -- International Women’s Friendship Month each September offers women the push they may need to put friends first. Starting Sept. 1, we encourage you to recognize the important female friendships in your life. Make plans to grab brunch together, organize a girls’ night out or plan a girlfriends’ getaway, or simply make a phone call or handwrite a personal note. Do something that recognizes those women in your life who inspire each day.
“Our friendships give us confidence and strength, which guide us through challenges and allow us to celebrate our successes,” said Beth Martin Langford, national president of Kappa Delta Sorority, the organization that created the celebration 15 years ago. “We hope all women will take a few moments in September to honor the special women in their lives.”
Throughout the month of September, the Confidence Coalition will be hosting a friendship photo contest for all women, KD and non-KD, to partake in. Participants are asked to submit a photo with a caption that answers, “How do your friendships build your confidence?”
The winner will receive a Friendship Getaway package for two, complete with a trip to Memphis, Tennessee. The prize package includes two round-trip airfares, a two-day two-night hotel stay, transportation provided by Express Transportation of Memphis, lunch at Flight restaurant with Leigh Anne Tuohy, a Kappa Delta alumna and inspiration behind the move The Blind Side, and two signed copies of Leigh Anne Tuohy’s book.
This September, put the phones on silent, clear your agenda, and make time to celebrate the female friendships in your life! For more information on the contest and the celebration, visit http://www.womensfriendshipmonth.com or call 800/536-1897.
