Recall and CBS Atlanta Partner to Break Guinness World Record
Norcross, Ga. (PRWEB) September 04, 2013 -- Recall, a global leader in document storage, secure document destruction, digital document management and data protection, today announced the “Great Shredder Event” in partnership with CBS Atlanta News. Atlanta-area residents and small businesses are encouraged to participate in the “Great Shredder Event” by bringing boxes of confidential and sensitive information for secure shredding at the event. Participation in the event will hopefully lead to setting the new Guinness Book of World Records for “Most Paper Collected in One Day.”
This free event for the Atlanta-area community will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves, in Atlanta, Ga. At the event, Recall will also provide educational guidelines on shredding and retaining confidential personal information, such as bank statements, bills, tax documents and other personally identifiable information.
“In 2012 alone, 17.3 million confidential records were exposed and 11.6 million people were victims of identity fraud. These statistics certainly indicate security breaches are a growing concern for companies and organizations of all types,” said Vice-President and General Manager for Secure Destruction Services, Recall North America, Tim McBride. “More than nine out of 10 data breaches were avoidable through simple or intermediate controls. Secure destruction of vital and confidential information is essential for the safeguarding of data and protecting against identity theft.”
Shredding and secure destruction are just one part of the full document lifecycle. Recall is a global leader in providing a secure chain of custody for all business information at every stage of its existence. Recall delivers forward-thinking services for the hybrid management of digital and physical records, and Recall believes that no competitor can rival its experience and insight on end-to-end strategies for document lifecycle management.
President of Recall Americas, Mark Wesley, added, “As a global company headquartered in Atlanta, we look forward to supporting our local community with the same secure, innovative services that we offer worldwide to businesses around the globe. Recall’s global chain of custody provides end-to-end security of all business information, including secure destruction. We welcome everyone in the Atlanta area to participate in this event and have their sensitive and confidential documents securely destroyed.”
