Award-winning SEO services company, 180Fusion, partnered with the Utah Food Bank to help feed hungry families in Utah. In efforts to continue the commitment and dedication to furthering the success of the community, 180Fusion employees gathered food to help feed the less fortunate.
According to Feeding America, almost 1 in 6 Utahns, and 1 in 5 Utah children are unsure of where their next meal will come from.
The Utah Food Bank is dedicated to insuring that every single person in Utah has a good meal to look forward to. Last year alone, they dedicated over 34 million pounds to 129 emergency food pantries and agencies in the state of Utah to feed the 17% of Utahns that were at risk of missing a meal.
Beginning in August, employees at 180Fusion were divided into two competing teams to gather the needed amount of food. Each team competed to bring in the largest amount of food. 180Fusion unveiled the total amount at the end of August: 1,947.97 lbs., which was over 340 pounds more than the company goal of 1,600 pounds. This amount was triple from the amount raised in 2012. The average meal weight is about 1.5 pounds, and a standard 40 pound box of food can feed a family of 4 for approximately 3 to 5 days. The 180Fusion donation could provide approximately 1,284 meals, feed a family of 4 for over five months, and feed 48 families of 4 for almost a week.
