RokketLaunch, a new startup on a mission to turn email inside out, today announced the launch of its first product, PeeqPeeq, and the close of its $1.25 million first round of funding. RokketLaunch is taking a fresh approach to solving email overload by using Big Data to turn email into beautiful, intuitive mobile applications for both consumers and businesses.
“We are turning email inside out,” said Lee Ott, CEO & Co-Founder at RokketLaunch. “It’s about your content, not your inbox. We think of email like electricity. It powers everything we do, but to really take advantage of it you need great products to unlock its full potential. We’re making it possible to build amazing products that leverage all the latent potential in your email.”
Today, RokketLaunch launched PeeqPeeq, designed specifically for the iPhone and iPad and also available on the web. PeeqPeeq turns one of email’s biggest problems – all the shopping content that threatens to overwhelm people’s inboxes – into something elegant and engaging. PeeqPeeq cleans all the shopping messages out of the inbox and transforms them into a beautiful, personalized catalog. With PeeqPeeq, people can browse through and shop all of the new products, sales and updates from their favorite retailers when they want, and get an instantly cleaner inbox at the same time.
RokketLaunch is co-founded by Lee Ott, former head of product for webOS at HP / Palm, and Anirban Kundu, former head of US engineering for Shazam. RokketLaunch has raised $1.25 million of funding from Jerry Yang's AME Cloud Ventures, Ash Patel at Morado Ventures, and a number of angel investors including Jon Rubinstein, former CEO at Palm and Farzad Nazem, Former CTO at Yahoo!.
"RokketLaunch is solving a problem that everyone has – cluttered and overloaded email – but by taking a radically different approach,” said Jerry Yang, founding partner of AME Cloud Ventures. “Rather than rebuilding or creating a new inbox, RokketLaunch is providing context, relevance and presentation to what is already in the inbox so people can more easily deal with their email. We are excited to be funding this innovative concept, led by a talented and experienced executive team.”
