Baker Tilly Names Four New Members to Board of Partners
CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) September 05, 2013 -- Accounting and advisory firm Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP (Baker Tilly) recently named four new members to the firm’s board of partners: Ethan Bach; Jeffrey DeYoung, CPA, MST; Jere Shawver, CPA; and Thomas Unke, CPA. The board of partners is the governing body of the firm and is responsible for establishing and executing partnership governance policy, overseeing the CEO, ensuring the continuity of the partnership, and making other major decisions affecting the firm.

Four new members of the board of partners
Ethan Bach: Bach, principal with the national consulting group, joined Baker Tilly in 2002. He is the leader of the consulting group in Chicago and leads the growth strategies service offering for consulting. Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Bach held various positions with two global professional services firms. He has extensive experience in business and technology strategy, process redesign, and cost and performance management.
Jeffrey DeYoung, CPA, MST: DeYoung is managing partner of the Minneapolis office, which comprises more than 200 professionals working in tax, audit, consulting, wealth management, employee benefits, and staffing. He is a member of the firm’s Management Committee and previously served as the regional managing partner for the Chicago and Detroit offices. Prior to being named managing partner in 2005, he served as leader of the construction and real estate services group in Minneapolis. DeYoung has been with the firm since 1999.
Jere Shawver, CPA: Shawver is our firm’s managing partner of risk services. Previously, he was managing partner for the consulting services practice in the East region. Shawver has been with Baker Tilly and its predecessors since 1998. He serves on the firm’s Management, Executive, and Risk Committees. Shawver works closely with his clients in evaluating solutions to critical business issues in the areas of financial reporting, governance, and internal controls. He serves as the concurring partner on many engagements and works with our engagement teams to evaluate the propriety of accounting and reporting for clients.
Thomas Unke, CPA: Unke is the leader for the firm’s energy and utilities practice and also leads our software subsidiary, Civic Systems. His professional focus is on providing accounting and advisory solutions to utility companies and to large companies with utility challenges. Unke, who joined the firm in 1991, has been active in many firm committees and task forces including the Ownership/Retirement Task Force, Vision Committee, Board of Partners Committee, and CEO Evaluation Committee.
