“The Wishlist is a cool new way for foundations like ours to expand how they use social media,” said Denis Leary, founder of The Leary Firefighters Foundation, “It’s how we all connect with each other anyway, so to be able to do more on our Facebook page is terrific.”

Axle Digital and The Leary Firefighters Foundation joined forces in May 2013 to build awareness about TheFireStore.com Wishlist on Facebook. After seeing the great success TheFireStore.com had in getting the word out about the Social Wishlist, the Leary Firefighters Foundation decided to launch their own Wishlist.

“Our followers on Facebook are very enthusiastic about the Leary Firefighters Foundation, so we wanted to offer them an easy way to get their hands on Foundation gear without ever leaving Facebook,” said Mardi Grant, Director of The Leary Firefighters Foundation.

The mission of The Leary Firefighters Foundation is to provide funding and resources for fire departments to obtain the best available equipment, technology and training. Axle is assisting the Leary Firefighters Foundation to launch their Social Wishlist on Facebook enabling their Facebook fans to create a personalized Wishlist filled with Foundation promotional items, including t-shirts, books and other materials. Fans then have the ability to share their personalized Wishlist with their entire network of friends and family, both on Facebook and outside Facebook with embedded posts, and help raise funds for the Foundation through the purchase of those items.

The Wishlist for the Leary Firefighters Foundation runs on Axle Digital’s innovative Grand Central Commerce Platform, which enables them to manage all of their existing and future omni-channel and social media campaigns from a single, centralized interface. Once the charity has brought their product line into the platform, they have the ability to create any number of unique commerce experiences on the web and on social media platforms, all with no further integration required.

Axle’s unique Dashboard provides a centralized interface for managing multiple touch point applications, including product selections, content, application look and feel, promotional offers and more. Grand Central Commerce platform provides real time analytics and reporting across all touch points and empowers users including charitable foundations as never before to reach and engage their customers with both content and purchase opportunities wherever they may be.

“The Social Wishlist can be the latest tool in the arsenal for fundraisers in charitable organizations. If you have goods to sell in an effort to increase charitable donations in a fundraising effort, you should be using the Social Wishlist,” said Syd Dufton, President & CEO of Axle Digital. “Denis Leary’s use of social media to bring attention to the needs of firefighters is unparalleled and we are delighted to enable the Wishlist for the The Leary Firefighters Foundation.”

About The Leary Firefighters Foundation

The Leary Firefighters Foundation provides funding and resources for fire departments to acquire the best available equipment, technology and training necessary for the health and safety of firefighters and in turn, the public they serve. Founded in 2000 by actor Denis Leary in response to the 1999 Cold Storage Warehouse fire tragedy in his native Worcester, Massachusetts, The Foundation has committed more than $10 million for crucial programs for fire departments in Worcester, Boston, New York, New Jersey and New Orleans. After the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005, the Foundation rebuilt 11 firehouse in flood-ravaged New Orleans. Seven years later, the Foundation took lessons learned there to establish the Leary Firefighters Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund for firefighters in the areas affected by the storm, marking the first time the LFF funded individuals along with volunteer and union department personnel eligible for the program. 2012-2013 efforts include a campaign to bring equipment to Detroit MI in concert with the documentary “BURN” and firefighter health and fitness initiatives bringing workout equipment to individual firehouses.

At the heart of all The Leary Foundation’s initiatives is the desire to give firefighters a better chance of returning home to their families at the end of the day, and to ensure that each one of us and our loved ones will be more likely to survive a life-threatening fire. We are dedicated to helping maintain the highest level of public safety in our communities.
