KeyStone Showcases RadioDNS App on Smart Phones
(PRWEB) September 07, 2013 -- KeyStone Semiconductor Corp. (KeyStone), a fabless semiconductor developer of advanced digital radio turn-key technology announces that the company has successfully embedded RadioDNS feature in their mobile phone APP.
The linking of broadcast media with IP, as RadioDNS enables, allows additional functionality on receivers. RadioDNS includes RadioVIS, RadioEPG and RadioTAG, which enable user to explore visual information (text and graphic), obtain programme schedule, provide interaction and feedback to broadcasters.
RadioDNS is a method for a hybrid radio receiver, meaning one receiving the broadcast radio signal and connected to the Internet, to find the Internet address of the interactive service corresponding to the radio station actually tuned.
“We noticed the bloom of smart phones and the growing demand of KeyStone’s patent-awarded Bluetooth Radio Wizard (BRW) technology. We decided to integrate RadioDNS with BRW technology in our mobile app. This invention enables the smart phone users to access radio information like like RadioDNS, slideshows, Journaline and other data services via smart phones,” said Albert Tseng, the President of KeyStone. “Our mobile app enables the digital radio makers to produce true low-cost DAB radios capable of receiving RadioDNS via smartphone. Any DAB radios equipped with KeyStone BRW would be able to send the IP address to smart phones via Bluetooth. The app allows smart phones to access RadioDNS via wireless. Users are allowed to access RadioDNS content without paying extra on the radio.”
Live demonstration of RadioDNS via BRW technology on Android platforms will be shown at IFA from 6 Sept to 11 Sept, 2013 by appointment and held at KeyStone’s suite at Renaissance Harbor View Hotel, Wan Chai, Hong Kong during Hong Kong Electronics Fair from October 13 to October 16, 2013.
KeyStone is a WorldDMB, Bluetooth SIG and DRM Consortium member. Its DAB/DAB+ modules are certified by Apple MFi programs. Products employing KeyStone DAB/DAB+ modules and BRW technology are available at Apple Store. Samples and demo units are available for ordering.
