London, England (PRWEB) September 19, 2013 -- Kobre & Kim is pleased to welcome new partner Andrew Stafford QC, who joins James Corbett QC (formerly of Serle Court) and Jalil Asif QC (formerly of 4 New Square) as the firm’s third English Queen’s Counsel.
Mr. Stafford QC, formerly of Littleton Chambers, is a highly respected senior advocate with substantial commercial litigation experience in the High Court. In particular, his work focuses on injunctive work, breach of fiduciary duties and covenants, misuse of trade secrets and confidential information within the financial services industry as well as pension and complex employment related disputes.
Kobre & Kim’s English law disputes team, operating from the firm’s offices in London, the Cayman Islands, and the British Virgin Islands, conducts litigation and arbitration in London and various offshore financial centres.
In addition, the firm’s London office now houses four former U.S. Department of Justice lawyers with the recent addition of Roger Burlingame. Mr. Burlingame, who joined the firm in June, previously served as the Chief of the Public Integrity Section and Senior Trial Counsel in the Business and Securities Fraud Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
When asked about the firm’s expansion, Kobre & Kim London Partner Simon Cullingworth said, “We are pleased and excited to add another senior trial lawyer to our English law offering and also to further bolster our U.S. white-collar criminal team on the ground in Europe. The collective experience and knowledge in both fields will continue to boost the resources available for our engagements worldwide.”
With over 20 legal professionals working out of the firm’s London office, one of its seven around the world, Kobre & Kim continues to establish itself as the only conflict-free, global litigation boutique offering the skill and experience of English Queen’s Counsel, barristers and solicitors, offshore lawyers, and U.S. trial lawyers (including former federal prosecutors) in an integrated advocacy team.
