Helpdesk software is a basic part of practically any contemporary IT environment. As a rule, helpdesk solutions are intended to provide the customer/employee or other end-user with appropriate interactive support (technical, sales, etc.) related to the company's products and services. The main point of a helpdesk is to troubleshoot problems using a formal procedure for user requests creation, management and resolution.

HarePoint HelpDesk was released one year ago, and in its first version was compatible only with SharePoint 2010. The product creates helpdesk systems for sites based on Microsoft SharePoint platform. This last year has shown the great demand for such solutions on the market, so the next logical step was the development a version compatible with SharePoint 2013. This version was successfully launched at the beginning of September 2013.

HarePoint HelpDesk for SharePoint 2013 is a ready-to-use customer/user support system for SharePoint sites. It provides an efficient system with all the required functionality for processing incoming support requests. The new version of product is fully compatible with SharePoint Server 2013, and includes support of the Windows 8 user interface style. Among the key features of this software are: special adaptability for SharePoint - easy deployment, customization and integration; convenient and practical interface; email-based request submission; flexible system of email notifications; auto-assignment of request and automatic escalation; proactive SLA management; and efficient licensing model.

Today, there are two editions of HarePoint Helpdesk: Basic and Standard; users are welcome to view the details of the differences between the editions on the product roadmap page. Both editions are compatible with SharePoint 2013 and the Enterprise edition (expected in early 2014 with a range of new outstanding features designed especially for large enterprises) will also have this compatibility. Additionally, HarePoint provides a strongly complementary product: HarePoint Knowledge Base - a solution that establishes a full-functionally knowledge management system in a SharePoint environment.
