Scrum.org has announced that for the first time, software professionals have the opportunity to earn the industry-recognized Professional Scrum Developer l certification without taking a course. This certification will be granted to anyone who can demonstrate their knowledge through the online PSD I assessment.
Building excellent software using Scrum requires the development team to have a solid understanding of Scrum, effective software development practices, and the tools that support them. All members of a development team need fundamental knowledge of using Scrum in the context of their specific skills; be it testing, coding, designing user interfaces, documenting the product, or database management. The Professional Scrum Developer I (PSD I) assessment measures this knowledge.
“Assessing one’s knowledge is a great way to validate, learn, and improve one’s understanding of a given subject area. Anyone who feels they possess the knowledge of how to build complex software products using agile engineering practices and Scrum can validate that knowledge by taking the PSD I assessment from Scrum.org,” says Ken Schwaber.
Those who pass the assessment will have demonstrated fundamental knowledge of professional software development practices like test-first development, appropriate automation strategies, emergent design, and other topics included in the PSD Objective Domain, available on Scrum.org’s website. They will receive the industry-recognized PSD I Certificate.
