BrunchCritic, New York’s all-brunch online resource where busy New Yorkers can find the best NYC brunch, will launch a fall season of its popular series Buns n’ Biscuits. Buns n’ Biscuits partners with top New York City trainers to host boot camps, and workouts are always followed by brunch. At the same time the event is changing the way people think about brunch, a treasured New York institution.

“Brunch is a social activity and there is demand for people to meet new, like-minded individuals. And, there’s a segment of people in New York who love to exercise. But they don’t socialize with people before, during and after a typical workout. And this comes from my own experience as well. We’ve paired working out and brunch together in an energetic, and unique way. It’s a great time, it’s quirky, and New Yorkers don’t have to feel guilty about indulging in brunch,” said Founder Andrea Pappas.

“We’ve noticed that people are really building connections and staying in touch with one another as a result of engaging in boot camp together, and then being able to sit down and converse at brunch. We’ve also had a couple that has come out of the series! They met at one event and have been seriously dating ever since,” added Pappas. “People often ask me how I stay slim when I eat so much brunch. I tell them to come to the boot camp and find out.”

After having a successful spring and summer pilot season, we decided to launch this fall season. The weather is still good for an outdoor workout, and brunch is very popular in the fall. At the end of the day, we want to facilitate men and women, ages 25 – 40, to have a fun time, get offline, and meet new people. That is what BrunchCritic is all about. We’ll also be having a surprise excursion outside the city the weekend of September 28th that I’m very excited about.”
