Patient Compliance Rated Low by Physicians According to a New DoctorDirectory.com Survey
Asheville, NC (PRWEB) September 23, 2013 -- DoctorDirectory.com routinely surveys members of their physician healthcare community to stay abreast of trends and opinions within the healthcare industry. More than 200 physicians responded to the “Seeing Your Patients” study in June 2013.
95% of the physicians that responded believe that 30% or less of their patients fully comply with medication dosing and treatment plans. Based upon these results, it appears that physicians have very low expectations regarding patient compliance with medication dosing and/or treatment plans.
The remainder of the survey focused on patient volume and time issues such as time spent with patients, number of patients seen in a week, and amount of time in between patients. Results showed that 69% of physicians spend between 15 and 30 minutes per appointment/patient. In addition, 65% reported that they have less than 5 minutes between patient visits. However, most (57%) felt that they had adequate time per patient visit.
When asked about follow-up time such as charting, EMR, etc, 59% responded that they spend between 5 and 15 minutes per patient.
