New York, NY (PRWEB) September 06, 2013
GBK and The Fashion Group International joined forces for a greater cause kicking off New York Fashion Week by hosting an industry insider event benefiting LIM FEF (LIM Fashion Education Foundation).
The two-hour cocktail took place at the GBK Celebrity Suites Style lounge in the Empire Hotel. The event was attended exclusively by The Fashion Group International members, celebrities and socialites including Bravo reality stars Sonja Morgan with Nancy Pearson, hedge fund executive and one of Time Magazine's most powerful women Lee Hennessee with world renowed celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Rosetta Garries. Fashion Icon and award winning costume designer Patricia Field graciously hosted the evening in support of LIM FEF. "I am very pleased to be here this evening in support of LIM FEF," said Patricia Field during the opening comments.
Gavin Keilly, CEO of GBK and Margaret Hayes, President of The Fashion Group International found a common ground purpose within their organizations to make a difference this Fashion Week. GBK's uncompromising philanthropic culture combined with The Fashion Group International's mission of supporting growth and leadership in the fashion industry. The result was clear at this evening's event when these industry leaders came together raising thousands towards fashion students' scholarships for the LIM Fashion Education Foundation.
"It's been a great pleasure to work with The Fashion Group International and support LIM FEF. Fashion week is a great occasion to come together and support the community while creating opportunities for emerging talent. These students are the future of the fashion business and we are excited to be able to use our resources and partnerships to give back," stated Gavin Keilley, CEO of GBK.
The exclusive event for The Fashion Group International reunited members from different parts of the world to kick off New York Fashion Week in style. "The Fashion Group was thrilled to partner with GBK on this exciting event for our members benefiting LIM's Fashion Education Foundation," said Margaret Hayes, President of FGI. "Celebrating the opening of Fashion Week with Patricia Field seems particularly fitting as she epitomizes the spirit of the industry and is an iconic stylemaker."
On behalf of LIM FEF, the recipient of donations was Michael Palladino, LIM FEF Board Member. "On behalf of the LIM Fashion Education Foundation, I am delighted and thankful for the support of our mission to offer scholarships and educational enhancements to LIM College students as they pursue their studies and enter the business of fashion. Without LIM FEF scholarships, many students would not be able to fulfill their academic and career potential," stated Michael Palladino. "Thank you Fashion Group International, GBK Productions and Patricia Field!"
