At Wags & Whiskers, Veterinary Professionals Help Match Families and Pets at a September 15th Block Party
Snohomish, WA (PRWEB) September 10, 2013 -- On Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., Snohomish Station Animal Hospital is teaming up with Second Chance Rescue and over 12 other local shelters and rescue groups, including PAWS and Everett Animal Shelter, to offer homeless pets a new leash on life at the 2nd Annual Wags & Whiskers event at the Snohomish Station shopping center on Bickford Avenue in Snohomish, near Fred Meyer.
Everyone in the community is welcome to attend this adoption event and block party, hosted at Snohomish Station Animal Hospital. Visitors can meet adoptable kittens, puppies, cats and dogs from local shelters and rescues including Wenatchee Humane Society, Yakima Valley Pet Rescue, Pasado’s Safe Haven, MEOW and N.O.A.H. Local businesses including Fred Meyer, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Anytime Fitness and Pet Pros will also be supporting the event by providing free food, raffles, prizes and more.
Experienced shelter staff, Licensed Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians will be on hand to help people find the right pet for their family. The shelter staff especially has great insight into the behavior and temperament of each pet. All animals available for adoption at the event are spayed or neutered and all adopted pets will receive a free office visit courtesy of Snohomish Station Animal Hospital in Snohomish, Northpointe Animal Hospital in Lynnwood and Main Street Animal Hospital in Mill Creek.
The founders of Second Chance Animal Rescue, will be available for interviews throughout the day or upon request.
According to a study done by the ASPCA, approximately five to seven million companion animals in the United States enter animal shelters each year. Of those animals, half are euthanized simply because there is no one to adopt them. “Being the animal lover that I am, it breaks my heart to see wonderful loving pets without homes,” said Alena, a volunteer with Second Chance Rescue. “I consider myself blessed to be able to help an organization like Second Chance save pets lives.”
