Lamberto Frescobaldi Appointed New President of Marchesi de' Frescobaldi
Florence, Italy (PRWEB) September 11, 2013 -- Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi is proud to announce that Lamberto Frescobaldi has been appointed as the new President of the family wine group from Tuscany, Italy. Lamberto succeeds his uncle Leonardo Frescobaldi, who headed the group for six years. Per family tradition, the generational transition is timed to keep up with the changes of a continuously evolving business environment. "My nephew Lamberto is ready to take over my position and I'm sure he will be a great president," commented Leonardo Frescobaldi.
“I would like to thank all who have worked tirelessly for the company throughout the years: my father Vittorio, who, thanks to his passion for the family business, has inspired my love for viticulture and respect for nature. Particular thanks goes to my uncles Ferdinando and Leonardo, who contributed significantly to the most recent success of Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi. My main goal is to continue the successful direction of the company in both traditional markets, such as the US, and take advantage of the emerging ones, such as Asia,” noted Lamberto Frescobaldi.
Representing the 30th generation of this venerable dynasty, Lamberto Frescobaldi was born in Florence in 1963 and has been passionate about winemaking ever since he joined the family-run company as a young man. After achieving a degree in Agricultural Science and Management with a specialization in viticulture from the University of California at Davis in 1987, Lamberto Frescobaldi made the decision to return to Florence and dedicate himself to the modernization of the family vineyards.
In 2007, Lamberto was named Vice President of Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi and tasked with overseeing the renewal of the nine estates belonging to the Frescobaldi family; both supervising their development and overseeing their financial stability.
As President of Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi, Lamberto Frescobaldi will lead the following companies within the Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi group: Conti Attems, Luce della Vite, Tenuta dell’ Ornellaia, Vigneti di Nugola, Frescobaldi R&R, and Consorzio Griafone e Pianamonte. Giovanni Geddes de la Filicaja will remain the CEO of the Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi group.
