At Connectloud, our mission is to deliver a unified Cloud solution that provides true business value, and uCloud™ is our initial step in that direction.
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) September 06, 2013
Connectloud Inc., a venture-backed software startup that aims to transform how enterprises manage, automate and deploy their cloud and networking infrastructure, today announced its first product name, uCloud™.
Connectloud’s uCloud™, the IT industry’s first Software Defined Cloud™, is the only platform to empower enterprises with quickly scalable, secure, multi-tenant automation across Clouds of any type, for clients from any segment, across geographically dispersed data centers.
“CIOs today face paradoxical demands and challenges in both constructing an agile IT infrastructure, and reducing IT operating costs,” said Zeeshan Naseh, CEO of Connectloud. “At Connectloud, our mission is to deliver a unified Cloud solution that provides true business value, and uCloud™ is our initial step in that direction.”
On the surface, existing Cloud solutions seem to address many needs for enterprises, including reducing capital expenditures and freeing businesses from siloed and underutilized on-premise data centers. For those building private clouds within their on-premise data centers, turn-up of cloud management software frequently takes months, requiring expensive engineering time and attention. Several Cloud Management Platforms (CMPs) have emerged to provide solutions – some focused on building internally-hosted private clouds while others emphasizing Software-Defined Networking that relegates switches and routers to plumbing – but as Gartner has noted, “No vendor provides a complete CMP solution.”
Connectloud is seeking to address this need by providing a next-generation Cloud on top of multiple Clouds with uCloud™, fulfilling the CIO’s dream of reduced costs and limitless agility. With a holistic management control plane, Connectloud’s technology is a one-stop shop for enterprise Cloud services for IaaS, SaaS and PaaS.
“The future of IT is exciting, and we look forward to seeing enterprise technology executives accelerate business growth with uCloud™,” Naseh said.
Zeeshan Naseh, Connectloud’s CEO, is a seasoned Silicon Valley technology executive who served nearly 15 years at Cisco Systems, where he built Cisco’s cloud services business from whiteboard to global field launch, including its growth to more than $1 billion in revenue.
Connectloud is advised by a slate of technology and business all-stars, including Ken Morse, serial entrepreneur and Founding Managing Director of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center, and Stanford University professor and entrepreneur Ryan Orr.
