Unlimi-Tech to Preview Upcoming FileCatalyst Direct v3.3 Release and Demonstrate Latest FileCatalyst Workflow v4.9 Release at IBC 2013
Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) September 08, 2013 -- Unlimi-Tech Software, Inc., a pioneer in managed file transfers and the creator of FileCatalyst, the world's leading accelerated file transfer solution, is pleased to announce its upcoming FileCatalyst Direct v3.3 software release and demonstrate its latest FileCatalyst Workflow v4.9 software release at the upcoming IBC 2013 show, taking place from September 13 to 17 at the RAI in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
At stand 7.H40, Unlimi-Tech will showcase demonstrations of FileCatalyst, its accelerated and managed file transfer software platform, as well as previews and demonstrations of its latest releases. Along with demonstrations, Unlimi-Tech will also be outlining the benefits of accelerated and managed file transfer specific to the media and entertainment industry, including reduction of production cycles with the swift movement of large format media files over large geographic distances; the increased reliability compared to other methods; no maximum file sizes for transfers; secured transfers ensuring files are kept private with industry standard encryption; and progressive file transfer options allowing media files to begin transferring as they are being encoded.
“IBC hosts 50,000 professionals involved in the digital media and entertainment industry - a large number of which are actively engaged in creating workflows to ensure the efficient management and delivery of their organizations’ electronic media,” says Chris Bailey, CEO and Co-Founder of Unlimi-Tech Software. “Accelerated and managed file transfer is becoming an increasingly integral aspect of these professionals’ digital content delivery workflows as other file transfer methods like FTP and email are not able to handle the efficient delivery with the size of today’s media files. Our upcoming FileCatalyst Direct v3.3 release and our latest FileCatalyst Workflow v4.9 include new features further optimizing the movement of media files for this audience.”
The upcoming FileCatalyst Direct v3.3 release introduces the ability to streamline the transfer of very large file sets using several concurrent connections, and the ability to dynamically pick up new files as they are added in real time. This feature is particularly useful for the broadcast of live sporting events, allowing multiple video feeds, and their associated meta data to be transmitted in real time to a central location for editing.
Also new in FileCatalyst Direct v3.3 is FileCatalyst Proxy, a feature allowing organizations with strict access rules or with a DMZ to route all UDP traffic from FileCatalyst transfers through a single network node with a single port. This feature allows broadcasters and studios to use FileCatalyst acceleration technology without extensive changes to existing network infrastructure.
FileCatalyst Workflow v4.9 adds a host of new features including enhanced detection of the end user's web browser capabilities and selecting the best file transfer method possible. When a user has disabled plugins or is transferring through a strict network, they may still use the new drag and drop based HTTP uploader. Although it is using HTTP, it still achieves some measure of acceleration by transferring multiple files concurrently. The release also boasts several new security features and performance enhancements inherited from FileCatalyst Direct.
