Alexian Village Hosts National Aging Services Organization, COLLAGE
(PRWEB) September 06, 2013 -- Monday, September 16 to Wednesday, September 18, Alexian Village, a Milwaukee senior living community will host 50 members of COLLAGE, a national consortium of aging services organizations working to advance healthy aging and improve outcomes of older adults in residential environments.
“Alexian Village is the only Wisconsin retirement community to belong to this organization,” states Karri Sears, the Health Services Director of Alexian Village. Sears continued, “This gives us snap shots of what ‘aging in place’ really means and how we can constantly improve the quality of living for seniors. When residents join us at Alexian we work with them on developing a wellness plan that strengthens their independence and how we can work together to keep them healthy and active. The independence of seniors defines much of their lives and the joy that comes from living each day. With COLLAGE’S programs and help we truly make a difference in our seniors’ lives. What could be better than that?”
With the focus on senior living care - the members of the consortium, continuing care communities, moderate-income and federally subsidized housing programs, and home care and community-based agencies ‒ use a unique, holistic, evidence- based assessment tool and person-centered process to improve quality of life and successful aging.
