Marcel’s Culinary Experience, Glen Ellyn, Ill., Announces Cooking Classes, Events for Fourth Quarter 2013
Glen Ellyn, IL (PRWEB) September 09, 2013 -- Marcel’s Culinary Experience (http://www.marcelsculinaryexperience.com), a gourmet retail store and recreational cooking school in Glen Ellyn, Ill. (Chicago suburb), has announced its fourth quarter 2013 cooking classes, demonstrations and other events.
“We’re thrilled to be starting our third year in business as we enter the biggest cooking and entertaining season of the year,” said owner Jill Foucré . “To correspond with fall and year-end holidays, we’ve got an exciting line-up of more than 60 offerings next quarter for adults and young cooks alike."
As she has done each quarter, Foucré has added new topics and formats to Marcel’s roster of demonstration and hands-on cooking classes. “Our popular cocktail party format is back, as is our celebration table, where the evening concludes with a beautifully appointed sit-down meal in our dining room, featuring dishes demonstrated in class,” she said.
Marcel’s is also accepting reservations for fourth-quarter private classes, parties and other special events, for groups from 10 to 40. “We have a variety of fun, food-oriented themes and formats available. Weekends book up fast, as does the entire month of December,” explained Foucré.
Classes for Young Cooks
Marcel’s continues to expand its offerings for young cooks, with classes for three age groups:
• Little Kids (ages 6-8): A two-day culinary camp (Oct. 14-15) focuses on fall fruits and vegetables. Weekend classes include Thankgsiving-themed dishes (Nov. 16) and holiday sweets (Dec. 21). Children can bring a parent or other adult to help prepare a Halloween-themed menu (Oct. 27) or decorate a pre-assembled gingerbread house (Dec. 1).
• Mid Kids (ages 9-11): A two-day culinary camp (Oct. 14-15) teaches basic knife skills and cooking techniques that can be applied to a wide range of dishes. Weekend offerings include Thanksgiving side dishes and desserts (Nov. 17), gingerbread house assembly and decorating (Dec. 1) and holiday baking (Dec. 15). Adults can join in preparing a Halloween menu (Oct. 27).
• Big Kids (ages 12-16): Tweens and teens can learn to make sushi (Oct. 20), Thanksgiving side dishes (Nov. 17), or holiday sweet treats (Dec. 15).
“We’ve scheduled our culinary day camps during the Columbus Day school holiday, for parents in search of something fun yet educational for their kids to do while on break,” explained Foucré. “Not only do participants learn new skills that they can share with their friends and families, but they get to sit down together and enjoy eating what they’ve made in class.”
