Wilson Knight - "Stable Ground (The Supreme Remix)"

I see a lot of negativity in the gay community when it comes to out music, so I just felt it’s really important to make this remix.

Today, TheFabFemme.com offers an exclusive remix of Wilson Knight’s single, “Stable Ground.” Sampling Diana Ross and The Supremes, Wilson teamed up with out rappers, LastO, DDM, FLYKINGi and Solomon to create a hard hitting hip-hop remix sure to entice both pop and urban music lovers.

As an ode to the early 2000’s Jennifer Lopez/Mariah Carey remix, Wilson came up with the idea to not only add rappers and re-work the production but rewrite the entire song as well. Teaming up with Solomon and Tha Sa!nt to produce a new song, the two sampled “Keep Me Hangin’ On” by Diana Ross and The Supreme. But it was Wilson’s idea to bring along openly gay rappers.

Knight had this to say about the remix, “It’s like our version of Ladies' Night! It was about creating such a positive movement in the out community. All five of us create different music, but came together to support each other and express our creativity.”

Recently catapulted in the music industry, Wilson immediately gained support from other musicians but had a hard time garnering acceptance from fellow out artists prompting him further to complete the remix.

“I just feel like we're the first ones to sort of downsize the accomplishments of these out artists when we should be celebrating and supporting them. I see a lot of negativity in the gay community when it comes to out music, so I just felt it’s really important to make this remix happen and get these amazingly talented artists to come together and create something wonderful and symbolic of where our community needs to be and how far we've come.”

SolRay Records recording artist Wilson Knight’s debut single, “Stable Ground”, debuted on Next Magazine and EQ Music, calling the song “a breath of fresh air, a creation that differentiates itself from the rest of the typical, somewhat boring offerings found on the radio airwaves.” After writing an article for Huffington Post, Knight is currently hard at work in the studio writing and recording his debut EP, set to be released at the end of the year.
