Furthering its position as a leader in web hosting and web design services, Vodien Internet Solutions has now come up with IPV6-ready solutions to move their clients forward and keep them on the leading edge of technology.

In response to the fact that the pool of IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4) addresses available for future allocation is drying up, the IPv6 addressing system has been adopted to generate a much larger pool of addresses as compared to IPv4, ensuring that the Internet will not run out of IP addresses anytime soon.

With the exponential growth of the Internet and number of connected devices, these IP addresses are being consumed rapidly and IPv4 is no longer able to cater to future growth. Being the providers of websites and other web applications, web hosting providers are the greatest hit. IPv6 is the long-term solution to the issue of IPv4 exhaustion. With an addressing capability of 128-bit, the IPv6 system will be able to provide a theoretical maximum of about 340 trillion, trillion, trillion addresses.

"Adoption of the new IPv6 system has become critical to the operation of the Internet, and Regional Internet Registries (RIRs)—which have traditionally distributed IPv4 addresses amongst companies and other concerned entities—have turned their attention over the past couple of years to the promotion and development of the IPv6 system," said Bill Poh, Founder of Vodien Internet Solutions. "We recognize the importance of IPv6 as the number of wireless devices being used skyrockets. That's why Vodien is offering our clients IPv6-ready solutions now—because that is the direction the technology is moving."

Vodien's switch over to IPv6 is aligned with the InfoComm Development Authority of Singapore's (IDA) IPv6 Transition Programme, a national initiative launched to address the issue of IPv4 exhaustion. Under the programme, IDA has planned a series of activities to ensure the Singapore Infocomm ecosystem is prepared for a smooth transition to IPv6, such as an IPv6 awareness drive and industry engagement.

"IDA is encouraging the infocomm industry to fully adopt IPv6 to accelerate readiness, which is what Vodien has already done," Poh said. "We are already recognized as one of the most reliable and trustworthy Singapore hosting providers, and the fact that we’ve already fully adopted IPv6 is testament to the fact. Our clients can be assured we are staying on top of the things, and providing them with the technology that they need to strengthen their business."
