New York, NY (PRWEB) September 10, 2013

CLEAR, the leading biometric identity airport solution, launched its expedited traveler service in Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) today. CLEARlanes will be located at both terminals, allowing every passenger on any airline to speed through security lines in less than 5 minutes.

“We are thrilled to bring CLEAR’s biometric platform to Silicon Valley, a city synonymous with innovation and efficiency. SJC joins CLEAR’s growing network of airport partners bringing speed and predictability to the travel experience,” said CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker.

CLEAR will be operational in 9 major airports by year end. Both Houston (IAH and HOU) airports will be launching in November - expanding the national airport footprint. CLEAR has also integrated with PreCheck in all co-locations, including SJC, so PreCheck eligible CLEAR members can get the best of both worlds. CLEAR is growing fast and has already been used more than 1.2 million times, making business travelers more productive and saving members collectively over 36 million minutes.

Mineta San Jose International is introducing CLEAR’s biometric technology to enhance passengers’ travel experience but it also means new private sector jobs, enhanced security, and new revenue for the airport. “We’re pleased to once again offer CLEAR’s cutting-edge and efficient pre-screening service to travelers,” said Bill Sherry, Director of Aviation for Mineta San José International Airport. “We were the first Bay Area airport to offer CLEAR in 2007, and now is the ideal time to resume this service as passenger traffic at Silicon Valley’s airport is on the rebound due to more air service choices and an improving economy.”

CLEAR membership costs $179 for one year with unlimited use. Members can add their spouse or partner for an additional $50. All children under 18 can use the CLEARlane free of charge, and with no enrollment necessary, when accompanied by an adult member. Enrollment is fast and easy and can be started online at http://www.CLEARme.com.
