Garmin Vector Arrive September 25 at HRWC
Bozeman, MT (PRWEB) September 10, 2013 -- Garmin Vector power pedals are anticipated to arrive at the Heart Rate Watch Company on September 25th.
"We've had significant local interest in the pedals through our storefront and we will have a few pairs available for online sales," says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "While some pairs were shipped in very small quantities to local bike shops general availability should improve later this month."
How It Works
Vector works by measuring the deflection in the pedal spindle as you pedal, thereby measuring power at the source. These pedals measure the power you apply a few hundred times every second for accurate sampling.
Unique Features
Garmin Vector power pedals offer normalized power, training stress score (TSS) and even left/right power balance. The pedals are compatible with the Edge 510, 500, Garmin Edge 810, 800 and then Garmin Forerunner watches including the Forerunner 910XT. They support most ANT+ head units that are updateable with Garmin software.
"It took Garmin a few years to get these pedals to market and they opted for eight strain gauges per pedal, as opposed to the four gauges that were built-in to the initial design," says Squire. He adds, "The left/right power balance is huge because everyone has a dominant and non-dominant leg and balancing that adds power."
No Need for a Mechanic
Vector pedals come pre-calibrated and require no further calibration plus they can be installed with nothing more than a normal pedal wrench, so there is no need for a mechanic according to Squire.
"This means that there is virtually no risk to buying these pedals online, plus you get the same full Garmin warranty," says Squire.
