With Envelope Week nearly upon us, Bureau Direct can now provide the details of what events will take place during Envelope Week. This week-long celebration of the poor-relation in the stationery family will feature a daily colour highlight on different aspects of the huge range of envelopes available, as well as a facts, quizzes, online polls and a Willy Wonka style golden envelope prize giveaway.
The first annual Envelope Week was announced back in July. The date has been put back by one week, and will now run from Monday 16 to Friday 20 September 2013. Already dubbed ‘National Envelope Week’ in a suitably ironic tweet from Time Out Shopping (“**STOP PRESS** Just heard from @bureaudirect that Sep 9 to 15 is NATIONAL ENVELOPE WEEK. Worried, @londonfashionweek ?”), the week will be a light-hearted attempt to make people aware of the beauty and necessity of envelopes in today’s digital age.
Bureau Direct’s approach to stationery has always been to present essential items of everyday stationery in a tempting and seductive way. Throughout the week, there will be daily online activity including Twitter and Facebook, and the popular weekly stationery newsletter, Stationery Wednesday, will be devoted to envelopes. Each day will feature a colour to show the huge range of colour-shades available, in blue, green, pink, yellow and red. A spotlight will be put on a particular range for each day to showcase what that range of envelopes can offer the customer, and there will be a daily deal to offer 20% off a particular envelope or range of envelopes for one day only. The highlight of the week will be the golden-envelopes. Five lucky customers will receive a golden envelope with a golden ticket inside - the winners will receive a gift voucher.
