Medical Mission Trip Uses Skills of Maryland Foot and Ankle Specialist
Lutherville, MD (PRWEB) September 11, 2013 -- Baltimore-county based foot and ankle surgeon and aesthetic podiatry specialist, Dr. Kelly Geoghan (http://www.flawlessfeet.net), is taking her expertise and knowledge on the road. She is packing for Port au Prince, Haiti, to volunteer in a medical clinic as part of a mission trip.
Dr. Geoghan, board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, has been practicing for 15 years. She is participating in a Fishers of Men Ministries mission trip with her church, Trinity Assembly of God in Lutherville. She will be traveling from October 12 – 19, 2013, to treat survivors of Haiti’s 2010 earthquake. The country has no medical insurance and hospitals turn the sick away unless they have the cash to pay for treatment.
“I have been searching for volunteer opportunities to take my medical knowledge out of the office and operating room and apply it to those in need,” says Geoghan. “The church reached out to me and I decided there is no better way to use my talents in the global community.”
Dr. Geoghan is dedicated to providing her patients with the most effective products, technology and techniques available, practicing foot and ankle medical and surgical treatment with cosmetic care in her Lutherville office. A Baltimore native, she earned her undergraduate degree from Towson University and a doctorate of podiatric medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. She served as chief resident at Saint Agnes Medical Center in Baltimore. She is a member of the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association, is on the staffs of Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore and Greater Baltimore Medical Center and is affiliated with the Cosmetic Surgery Center of Maryland. Dr. Geoghan has also recently joined the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce.
