Recent Drug Recalls Highlight Growing Problem Controlling Germs, Bacteria, and Mold: UV-Aid by UV Technologies Provides a Natural Alternative for Cold and Flu Season.
Fort Myers, FL (PRWEB) September 18, 2013 -- As reported in the NY Times on September 13, Johnson & Johnson issued a recall due to possible mold contamination in one of its products. Also last week, the Wall Street Journal reported on the growing challenges facing Compounding Pharmacies.
Last year, a major recall of methylprednisolone produced by the New England Compounding Center in Framingham, Mass. affected about 14,000 people who had been injected with it. Over 317 people in 17 states had been infected in the outbreak and 64 have died. The sickness was linked to a common black mold E. rostratum. It is widely found in the environment, on plant debris, in soil, and in water.
Molds in their normal environment are usually not dangerous to humans. The calculus changes when they are ingested and especially injected into the bloodstream, bypassing the body's natural defenses.
Flu vaccinations, that are primarily injected, have become more suspect due to their limited effectiveness, means by which they are produced (eggs), and use of additives like Thimerosal that is a mercury-based preservative that has been used for decades in the United States prevent the growth of germs, bacteria and fungi, that can contaminate them. Much has been written about the possible side effects of Thimerosal such as the possible link to autism, but without it, flu shots may be susceptible to contamination. The single-dose flu shots are now made without Thimerosal as a preservative because they are intended to be opened and used only once.
A potentially more effective alternative solution lies with nature. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) data, the flu is virtually non-existent when natural sunlight is abundant near summer solstice, June 21 (week 25) and worst winter solstice, December 21 (week 51). The body uses the energy from the sun to effectively fight of disease and infection through the production of Vitamin D and the process of photo-oxidation. Photo-oxidation is the skin's response to the sun's rays producing hydrogen peroxide which protects the body from oxygen radicals, and in turn also protects the body from germs, bacteria, and mold.
UV-Aid uses the body's response to daylight to naturally produce hydrogen peroxide on the surface of the skin. Hydrogen peroxide is a known disinfectant that kills germs, bacteria, and molds preventing sickness in susceptible areas such as the nose, throat and ears. UV-Aid has been used for years to effectively prevent cold, flu, sinus and ear infections. A recent endorsement from Jaime Vendera, voice coach and first person in the world to break a glass with his voice is further testament to UV-Aid's effectiveness.
