Not registered yet for the 6th CA 2E/Plex Worldwide Developer Conference? Early bird registration has ended, but you can still qualify for significantly discounted registration if you act before October 13. This event includes, as usual, two solid days of training, but when you pay for two days, you get a pre-conference, educational opportunity as well. Buy two and get three, plus a pre-conference social kickoff on November 11th.

The pre-conference sessions each offer four-hour long workshops, allowing more hands-on time, depth of training and individual interaction. CA Technologies, CM First and Websydian will all be presenting sessions on the 12th. Each workshop offers unique opportunities to dig deeper into the technologies, practice working with new features and learn much more.

“CM First couldn’t wait to get on board with the pre-conference training as well as participating in the regular conference,” said John Rhodes, CTO, CM First Group. “It offers CM First the chance to give customers the quality education normally only offered as part of the CM First educational program in a condensed form.”

The morning sessions include four hours on “CA Plex – Standardized Integration, Reuse and Cost Saving” presented by CA Technologies. This session focuses on how Web Services can be imported into an application, a feature available in CA Plex r7.0. CA will also offer a workshop on “CA 2E Web Option,” generating web interfaces directly from the 2E model.

In the afternoon, CM First Group offers two sessions from 1:00-5:00 PM. The first is “CA 2E Advanced Topics,” featuring hands-on session on exploiting new technology areas with CA 2E, including CA 2E ILE, change management, triggers, SQL and more. The second session,”HTML5 Hybrid Apps with CA Plex and CM WebClient,” provides hands-on training with mobile development technology, from design to deployment. Perfect for those just getting started with mobile app development, learn how to mobilize a CA Plex model app. Some advanced topics will be covered as well.

Also in the afternoon, Websydian offers “RIA Web with CA Plex, WebSydian and ExtJS.” Model your Plex/Websydian web solution directly in Plex creating rich internet applications from pre-delivered patterns.

The “hackathon” takes place from 12:30-6:30, offering time to participate even if attending workshops.    Work with vendor developers to create solutions to current issues and have the chance to view demos of relevant products and services.

“CM First hopes to see many customers at this event. Meet the development staff and participate in these workshops and sessions”, said Christoph Heinrich, CEO. “To get the most value from installed products, consider training a wise investment in future success.”

Each attendee will also have the opportunity to meet with product vendors, including CA Technologies and CM First. For developers in this space, this once every 18 months conference represents the best opportunity to learn both through sessions and networking, helping to elevate skills and abilities to the next level.
