Cartelligent Releases Lost of Top Car Technologies Available Now
Sausalito, CA (PRWEB) September 12, 2013 -- Cartelligent has released its list of the top innovations currently available in new cars. The service, based in Sausalito, California and with branches in Danville, San Jose and Irvine helps thousands of people purchase cars each year across all manufacturers.
Technology has become an integral part of people’s daily lives. It’s only natural that drivers expect this to extend to their vehicles. The newest models incorporate the latest technological advances to help them stay connected, entertained and, most importantly, safe.
The car buying experts at Cartelligent have compiled a list of their favorite tech features available in vehicles now.
10. FEATURE: Back-Up Cameras
SPOTLIGHT VEHICLE: Subaru Outback
Relying on mirrors alone is a thing of the past. Back-Up cameras allow drivers to be absolutely confident that there's nothing behind their vehicle.
Also available in select Acura, Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Ford, Infiniti, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo models.
9. FEATURE: Wi-Fi Hotspots
SPOTLIGHT VEHICLE: Jeep Grand Cherokee
Why force the entire family to watch the same DVD when each kid can have their own tablet and stream the movie of their choice? Chrysler Group’s UConnect taps cellular and 3G to keep the signal strong even through tunnels.
Also available in select Audi, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo models.
8. FEATURE: Hands-Free Trunk/Lift-Gate
SPOTLIGHT VEHICLE: Audi A8
Hands-free trunks and lift-gates automatically open when someone holding the key waves their foot underneath the trunk. Because sometimes, pulling out the keys is just really hard to do.
Also available in select BMW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen models.
7. FEATURE: Integrated App Suite
SPOTLIGHT VEHICLE: Toyota Sienna
The latest car-consoles go beyond mere navigation, offering one-touch access to Yelp reviews, real-time traffic updates and Pandora music. Some will even check the driver into their current location on Facebook!
Also available in select Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Ford, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo models.
6. FEATURE: Adaptive Headlights
SPOTLIGHT VEHICLE: Lexus LS
Like the legendary Tucker '48, today's adaptive headlights follow the direction of the wheels so that they turn into the bend when the vehicle begins to corner. This allows the driver to see and respond to the road ahead more quickly.
Also available in select Audi, Buick, BMW, Cadillac, Chrysler, Hyundai, Infiniti, Mazda and Volkswagen models.
5. FEATURE: Blind Spot Detection
SPOTLIGHT VEHICLE: Honda Accord
Blind-spot detection systems, such as Honda's LaneWatch, use tiny cameras or radar detection to provide drivers with valuable information about what’s going on in their blind spot.
Also available in select Acura, Audi, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Honda, Infiniti, Jeep, Lexus, Mazda, Toyota and Volkswagen models.
4. FEATURE: Attention Assistance
SPOTLIGHT VEHICLE: Mercedes-Benz ML-Class
Attention Assistance Systems are designed to jolt a driver who is not paying attention to the road. Mercedes-Benz's Attention Assist monitors the driver’s style and sounds an alert when it detects they may be starting to become drowsy.
Also available in select Audi, BMW, Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Subaru and Toyota models.
3. FEATURE: Text/Email Integration
SPOTLIGHT VEHICLE: Volkswagen iBeetle
A number of manufacturers are trying to reduce distracted driving by syncing voice commands into the car itself. Many vehicles will now read (and allow the driver to respond via voice to) their texts, emails and those important Facebook updates.
Also available in select Acura, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Ford, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz models.
2. FEATURE: Head-Up Display
SPOTLIGHT VEHICLE: BMW M6
Head-Up Display (HUD) Technology projects information such as current speed and driving directions in the driver's line of sight, without blocking the view of the road. Any driver who has narrowly avoided an accident will appreciate the critical extra seconds that this can provide.
Also available in select Buick, Cadillac, Ford, and Lexus models.
1. FEATURE: Collision Avoidance
SPOTLIGHT VEHICLE: Infiniti QX60
Automatic braking systems apply the brakes if an object crosses the vehicle's path and the driver doesn't respond. Infiniti takes this a step further by applying the same technology while in reverse.
Also available in select Acura, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz Subaru, Toyota and Volvo models.
