Construction Estimating Institute (CEI), a national provider of construction training, has been awarded a contract with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) as the provider of the Construction Management Development Program (CMDP) and Bond Guarantee Program (BGP). The programs provide training and support for small businesses and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) seeking to bid and perform FDOT construction work.

The training will kick off with the “Your Road to Working with FDOT” seminars on Tuesday, September 24th in Orlando, followed up on Thursday, September 26th in Fort Lauderdale. Attendees at these seminars will learn how to prepare their companies to competitively bid on FDOT construction projects. The seminars are open to the public. The seminars are funded by the Florida Department of Transportation and will be presented by Construction Estimating Institute. The seminar will explain how to bid public work, finding jobs in your area, accessing the FDOT website, and obtaining FDOT backed bonding. The seminar will also cover available training for small businesses in the areas of plan reading and estimating, constructing and submitting bids, project planning and scheduling, and fundamental business operations.
