Open Compute Project Rack Solution to be Among Products Demonstrated by Quanta QCT at Intel IDF Event This Week
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 10, 2013 -- Visitors to the Intel Developer Forum event (IDF ’13) this week in San Francisco have a chance to witness demonstrations of a new Open Compute (OCP) rack solution and a recently announced microserver solution from Quanta QCT. The products will be running alongside other compute, storage and switch solutions that the company has designed specifically for the needs of customers in the high-performance computing, cloud-ready datacenter and hyperscale datacenter segments of the market.
IDF ’13 will be held Tuesday through Thursday of this week in San Francisco’s Moscone Center West. Quanta QCT will be located in booth 218.
Demonstrations will include:
Open Compute Project Rack Solution: This rack-level system is based on the Open Rack (OCP) standard. It includes OCP-compliant server, microserver, and storage products from Quanta, including 2U3N, 2U4N, and JBOD solutions.
S1M (codename) Microserver: Announced last week, this extremely high density 42-node microserver system, is compliant to the OCP standard with Quanta’s patented “hidden shelf” design. This system was also shown at the Intel® Atom™ C2000 launch event last week as a demonstration of Intel’s future Silicon Photonics technology and RSA architecture.
STRATOS S210-X2A2J: The demonstration for this 2U GPU system will showcase how this product is designed to satisfy demanding high-performance computing workloads. The unit supports up to four Intel® Xeon PhiTM coprocessors for greater parallel computing acceleration.
STRATOS S910-X31E: Ideal for web hosting, cloud computing or big data workloads, this 3U microserver system is based on the Intel® Xeon® E3-1200 V3 processors. It supports up to 12 server nodes for impressive density and cooling performance in a general purpose server.
QuantaMesh T3048-IZ1: This switch is powered by the Intel® FM6764 and is ideal for the cloud-ready datacenter. With VXLAN and NVGRE support, the T3048-IZ1 is able to handle VM movement across a layer 3 networking fabric and to offload server loading.
