Illinois CancerCare, P.C. Announces Physician Addition, Gary R. MacVicar
Peoria, IL (PRWEB) September 12, 2013 -- Dr. Paul Fishkin, President, Illinois CancerCare, P.C., is proud to announce the addition of Gary R. MacVicar, M.D. to their staff of committed professionals. Dr. MacVicar adds to Illinois CancerCare's expertise in cancers, specifically, genitourinary malignancies, including prostate, kidney, bladder and testicular cancers.
Dr. MacVicar is a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his clinical training at the University of Michigan Health System with a Residency in Internal Medicine and a Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
Prior to joining Illinois CancerCare, Dr. MacVicar served on staff at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Although he treats patients with a variety of genitourinary malignancies, including testicular and kidney cancers, he has a particular interest in bladder and prostate cancers. He has been involved in phase II trials of bladder and prostate cancers, several of which involve novel targeted therapies. He has been an active member of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) Genitourinary Committee, and he has served on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Prostate Cancer Guidelines Committee as well as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Genitourinary Education Committee. He has presented at both the ASCO Annual Meeting and the ASCO Genitourinary Cancers Symposium.
