We hope everyone who has grieved the loss of a loved one stricken with cancer will light this candle in remembrance of them or in support of those who are cancer survivors.

Every 74 seconds, somewhere in the world, someone dies from breast cancer. Saving lives and ending breast cancer is the goal of the Susan G. Komen (http://ww5.komen.org) organization, started in 1982 to find a cure for the disease through research, community outreach, advocacy and education programs.

The Candleberry Candle Company (http://www.Candleberry.com), headquartered in Frankfort, Kentucky, announced their support of breast cancer awareness by producing a special pink candle. Scented with the company’s best-selling Hot Maple Toddy fragrance, the candle will be released on Monday, September 9, and will be available in most participating retail stores by September 15. The 26-oz. jar candle will bear a specially designed label, prominently featuring the SGK insignia. A portion of the national sales of this item will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Candleberry is a family-owned company with a commitment not only to producing a quality product, but also to contributing to the community, both locally and globally. “Our family has lost several family members and friends to cancer, and some are currently in remission,” said Lisa Clark, Sales & Marketing Director for The Candleberry Company. “We hope everyone who has grieved the loss of a loved one stricken with cancer will light this candle in remembrance of them or in support of those who are cancer survivors.” Hot Maple Toddy is one of the company’s signature scents, a customer favorite. Lisa Clark said, “We anticipate that many of our customers who love the Hot Maple Toddy candle will choose to purchase the pink version and join us in our support of the Susan G. Komen effort to find a cure.”

According to an SGK fact sheet, http://ww5.komen.org/uploadedFiles/Content/AboutUs/MediaCenter-2/Who%20We%20Are%20-%2007312013.pdf, early detection and effective treatment have resulted in a 33 percent decline in breast cancer mortality in the U.S. since 1991. The Candleberry Company is pleased to support the effort through their special edition candle. https://candleberry.com/scents/view-scent?name=Hot_Maple_Toddy_%C2%AE#Susan-G.-Komen-PINK-Hot-Maple-Toddy-Candle
