Death isn’t a fear for author Pat Gowdy, who wrote his first book, “Gold Beneath My Feet,” to help others understand the afterlife differently. What most people believe to be a pearly place in the sky, Gowdy and other religious scholars say is a very much a place that exists here on Earth, like a separate dimension. Heaven is actually a place on Earth much like the present Earth.
Pat Gowdy isn’t afraid of death because he knows there is a place for his spiritual body to go after his earthly body passes. He hopes his new book of poetry, “Gold Beneath My Feet,” will give solace to others about God’s presence and everlasting promise of life after death.
“Gold Beneath My Feet” is the product of God calling Gowdy to document life after death. Gowdy began writing and felt it was important to share that death isn’t the end. The fears that people have about death are unnecessary because of the wonderful plans that God has for His children after they pass from this world to the next.
“All my life I have noticed how fearful people seem to be about death. In some circles death is talked about as an almost taboo thing. God gave me this book to hopefully renew people’s faith in Him and the marvelous riches awaiting on the other side,” said Gowdy.
Although the book centers around poetry, there are many prose elements that describe Gowdy’s personal journey with God and his realizations of God’s message to him about the afterlife. Hailed as “the book that saved my soul” by a reader, “Gold Beneath My Feet” is the true, inspiring, and beautiful account of what Christians hope for after life.
