WellCare Names Kulich to Lead WellCare of Georgia
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) September 11, 2013 -- WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG), a leading provider of managed care services for government-sponsored health care programs, today announced that Roman Kulich has joined the company as Region President, Georgia and South Carolina. In this role, he will have day-to-day leadership responsibility for WellCare of Georgia, the company’s largest health plan by membership. He will lead the company’s Medicaid and Medicare Advantage business and growth initiatives in Georgia. In addition, he will provide strategic oversight for the company’s business in South Carolina. Dave Shafer, State President, South Carolina will report to Kulich.

Kulich joins WellCare from Coventry Health Care, where he served as president and chief executive officer for the Missouri and Illinois plans. Before that, he held positions of increasing leadership and responsibility with Molina Healthcare of Michigan, SelectCare, Inc., and Health Alliance Plan. Kulich graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
As of June 30, 2013, WellCare serves approximately 574,000 Medicaid members; approximately 25,000 Medicare Advantage members; and approximately 34,000 Medicare Prescription Drug Plan members in Georgia. As of June 30, 2013 WellCare serves approximately 51,000 Medicaid members and 10,000 Medicare Prescription Drug Plan members in South Carolina.
