For the fourth year running, University Language Services is inviting high school students to compete for a $500 college scholarship. In addition, two runner-up winners will each receive $100 scholarships.
This fall, ULS wants to know what potential freshmen are thinking while they tour college campuses.
To enter the contest, students must submit a photo taken while visiting a college. Just about any subject on a college campus is eligible, including classrooms, art installations and rambunctious mascots: students are encouraged to be creative with their submissions.
Entrants must also include a personal statement of no more than 200 words, describing why that photo represents their own definition of “college.”
The contest encourages high school students to reflect upon their goals for college and to make informed decisions by visiting their prospective schools.
This year’s contest is already underway. The first round of semi-finalists has been chosen, and the public can help decide which three entrants will become finalists by voting here: http://www.universitylanguage.com/finalists/.
Students still have time to enter this year’s contest. All entries must be submitted by November 20, 2013.
