(ISC)2® Collaborates with FCW to Co-Sponsor Fall Cyber Series of FCW Executive Briefings
Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) September 10, 2013 -- (ISC)²® (“ISC-squared”), the world’s largest information security professional body and administrators of the CISSP®, today announced it has teamed up with FCW to co-sponsor the Fall Cyber Series of FCW Executive Briefings.
This move is just the latest in a number of initiatives and activities that (ISC)2 is undertaking to promote greater perception and knowledge of safe cyber practices within the government community and among other publics in the buildup to and observance of National Cyber Security Awareness Month in October.
The three events are as follows:
• Addressing Economic Espionage—From Fraud to the Cybersecurity Frontier, Sept. 12, 2013
• Examining Insider Threats, Digital Forensics and Incident Response, Oct. 16, 2013
• Federal Identity and Access Management Update, Nov. 14, 2013
In addition to co-sponsoring the events, (ISC)2 officials and members will participate as keynote speakers and panelists, including Marc H. Noble, CISSP, (ISC)2 director of government affairs, and Daniel J. Ryan, Esq., (ISC)2’s forensics advisor.
“We are delighted that (ISC)2 will be an integral part of our Fall Cyber Series,” says Anne A. Armstrong, chief content officer of FCW. “Cybersecurity is critical, but ever-changing. It’s vital to have as a partner an organization that follows all the relevant issues, challenges, technologies and policies that affect government agencies as they safeguard their networks and data.”
“FCW has long played a valuable role in keeping government agencies up to speed and fully briefed on the most important technology concerns and challenges of the day. It is a privilege to be working with them,” says W. Hord Tipton, (ISC)2’s executive director and former CIO for the U.S. Department of the Interior. “That we can bring our focus, expertise and member experience to help educate federal officials on the latest in cybersecurity will only further our continual goal to increase awareness of how to practice safe and effective cyber security at all levels of government operations and throughout society at large.”
