Pinnatta is a mobile messaging platform that brings personal communication to life by letting people exchange interactive messages with their friends and family. Available for iOS and Android devices, the Pinnatta app uniquely blends the ease and immediacy of text messages with the sentiment and personalization of greeting cards. The app creates rich and unique multimedia experiences that leverage the latest smartphone capabilities, which enable interactivity such as blowing on the device’s microphone to extinguish virtual birthday candles or swiping its touchscreen to unfold virtual origami containing a personalized message. Pinnatta offers hundreds of customizable messages to commemorate special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, to celebrate holidays like Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter, and to make every day special with daily greetings such as “Good morning,” “Hello,” and “I love you.”
“Pinnatta offers a really unique and personalized experience combining the amazing technology inside today’s mobile devices with a huge library of high-quality, customizable content,” said George Spanoudakis, co-founder and CEO of Pinnatta. “This round of funding allows us to speed up our growth and continue refining the Pinnatta application, which we believe will help define the future of personal communication.”
The new funding positions the company for its next stage, which includes the launch of a significant update to its application. Launching later this month, the updated app will boast an entirely redesigned interface to make sending Pinnattas even easier, plus new group messaging and recommendation features. The app will also add even more sophisticated and customizable Pinnattas to the hundreds of interactive messages already available. The app will launch on Windows Phone and iPad later this year.
Pinnatta will continue to operate out of its headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, with development offices in Athens, Greece. Previous private investors include Andrew Wright, Tasso Argyros, and Stamos Venios.
