San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 17, 2013 -- On Sept. 11, 3013, Tetra Tech DPK honored Dr. Jorge Subero Isa, the former President of the Supreme Court of the Dominican Republic, with its “Leading with Integrity” award at a talk and luncheon in San Francisco.
Tetra Tech DPK established the award to honor exceptional leaders, whose vision and commitment to personal and institutional integrity inspire improvements in the quality of justice and governance for the people of their countries. The award was given to Dr. Subero Isa in recognition of his leadership during his tenure as President of the Supreme Court of Justice and after, which brought increased transparency to the Dominican courts, an open public dialogue about justice sector reforms, and improved public trust in the judiciary.
“Dr. Subero Isa has taken fundamental justice principles and given life to them in the Dominican justice system ,” said William E. Davis, Tetra Tech DPK’s co-founder, who presented Dr. Subero Isa with the award.
Dr. Subero Isa is an attorney and strategic consultant with more than 42 years of experience in the public and private sector focusing on electoral and judicial issues. He holds a PhD from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, and founded the School of Law at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo. Dr. Subero Isa’s career achievements have earned him national and international recognition. He is the recipient of the medal of the Bicentennial of the Independence, and the centennial of the Revolution of the United States of Mexico.
“Receiving an award like this makes it all the more important that my efforts continue,” Dr. Subero Isa said.
The award was given following a discussion on U.S. engagement in rule of law development. Ambassador James Michel, former Counselor to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and former Chair of the Development Assistance Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development also spoke at the event about emerging challenges to international cooperation in support of democratic governance, rule of law, and human rights.
